The Mountain Christmas Tour of Homes is scheduled for December 3-5, 2010. This year's Tour includes eight beautifully decorated homes in Hiawassee and Young Harris, with artisans demonstrating their art in several of the homes.

The festivities begin Friday evening with the annual Tree Lighting at Mayor's Park in Young Harris, followed by a concert by the Mountain Community Chorus at Glenn Auditorium on the Young Harris College campus.

On Saturday and Sunday the homes are open for the tour, as is our first Decorators' Show House, showcasing the decorating talents of area designers. Also open is the Organ Loft in Young Harris, an amazing collection of reed organs from the mid-1880's through the early 20th century. The Susan B. Harris Chapel at Young Harris College will be open as well, with musical performances every hour.

Refreshment stops are open along the routes between the tour homes. Enjoy the William Holland Lapidary School, Appalachian Studio, and Campus Gate Gallery in Young Harris, as well as Deb Collins Signature Gallery, Grahl Gallery, Joan of Art Studio and ongoing art demonstrations at the ArtWorks Artisan Centre in Hiawassee.

Saturday evening brings a reception for tour ticket holders with artisan demonstrations, musical performances, and our first silent auction. Proceeds will go to the Towns County Food Pantry and the Children's Art Program at ArtWorks Artisan Centre.

Tickets are available from the Towns County Chamber of Commerce, www.mountaintopga.com, or reserve a room with us and we'll include two tickets with your two-night stay.

After months of hard work by a great crew, our new web site is up and running. We want to thank a few folks for their efforts.

First, our partners at Acorn Internet Services deserve a round of applause. With Dale and me being as computer illiterate as anyone, Lisa, Annie, Willie, Helena and their associates had their hands full keeping things moving along. Their patience and perseverance kept this project on track, as they pulled us into the 21st century. We hope you'll agree that the site is indeed a testament to their talents and skills.

Our consulting partner, Peter Schermann of the B&B Team, as well as Peter's lovely wife Peggy, did an awesome job with interior photography. Their work truly highlights the renovations that we undertook last year. Our thanks to both of the Schermanns.

We owe particular thanks to our daughter Amy. She took the lead with Acorn in getting this project off the ground, and prodded us to get things done. While we had our disagreements along the way, she continued to push us in many ways to finally get this project completed. We are so proud of her, as well as our son Jay, for all of their help and support.

Check out www.chanceyhillinn.com and let us know what you think of the new web site.
